I used google spreadsheet to find the lowest performing students. I was able to chart their progress on the test. I found, from my graphs, that Katherine Hepburn had the highest growth from test 6 to test 10. Google spreadsheet is very similar to Microsoft Excel, which made it easy to navigate. I was able to use the equation button to find the average of each test and the averages for each student. The Charts and graph are located in the Insert tab, there are many choices available for you to chose from depending on the information you are trying to present.
I have linked my spreadsheet here. If you would like to see how I came up with my averages and the below average student growth rate.
Job well done, Fran. My only concern would be addressing the following question: If one was to update the data table (ie, pretend there was an error in a test score), would the above 'images' be accurate? ____
ReplyDeleteAre they DYNAMIC, or STATIC? ____
In the old days they had to be static, but today one can embed the 'live' sheet or parts of a sheet so everything stays synced.
These spreadsheets are dynamic, meaning if I go in and change data on the spreadsheet then the data change will be documented in the graphs on my blog.
ReplyDeleteSo the above images would be accurate, because these are live "images".
