Kidblog.org Using Blogs in the Classroom

CLICK ON PICTURE TO CHECK IT OUT!

This website is a great way to get students started with blogs. It is a great way to incorporate writing, collaboration and assessing. I heard about this blog from one of my classmates. The mentor teacher used as a place for students to write reflections about readings and book reports. They would then have to make comments on others posts. It was a great way to teach them the steps to publishing work and the importance of making sure their work is the best it can be.
You may be asking why not use blogger? Its the same set up. Well its because Kidblog. org is private. Only your class can see it. It is very easy to navigate and is simple to set up so students don't get to caught up in individualizing it. It also allows the teacher to have control over the students profiles and published blogs.
